LAST DAYS OF

The first concept created by La Garçonnière Prod., LAST DAYS OF is a series of events, each with a unique theme and guest artists, inspired by underground club life and music history. Shows have included voguing, electronic music, video projections, installation and performance art.

Space

“It was essentially a space that was made up to be completely built up and torn down repeatedly in a series of thematic identities. It was to be nightclub as art,” said G. O’Brien in reference to the 1980’s NYC club AREA. Whether it results in a spaceship ‘crashed’ in a garage, a giant retro-futuristic mask, a Factory-style dancefloor in a loft, or a garden made of bricks and trees inside a gallery, LAST DAYS OF references 80’s clubbing by creating ephemeral themed film-like sets, which blur the barriers between performer and public.

Visuals

Once in place, the set is ready to be dressed. Light shows, video mapping, veejaying, screens and TV installation bring the space to life. With influences ranging from film noir to underground glamour, LAST DAYS OF plays on historical visual references, creating a distinct immersive mood and ambiance.

Music/Performance

Electronic music artists are regularly invited to play live, alongside in-house & guest DJs. Together they retell the story of club music and its history. With a particular focus on emerging talent, LAST DAYS OF has produced original performances since day one. In an environment where there is little distinction between performer and audience, bodies, space and music merge to create a unique experience.
